Kulibayev's oil company fined almost T14 billion in Atyrau region

Atyrau. August 5. KazTAG – Caspian Oil JSC has been fined almost T14 billion in Atyrau region, said the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.
"As a result of the consideration of the prosecutor's submission, by the decision of the judicial panel of the Atyrau Regional Court dated July 2, 2024, Caspian Oil JSC was brought to administrative responsibility under Article 328 of the Code of Administrative Offenses with a fine of T13,684,868,730. As a result of the principled position of the prosecutor's office, an administrative fine was collected into the budget, the state National Fund was replenished by T13,684,868,730," the report said.
The supervisory authority discovered that Caspian Oil JSC did not receive an accumulation limit for over 4,500 tons of hazardous waste generated in 2021-2022 as a result of drilling and operation of the field.
100% of the shares of the company "Caspian Oil" belong to JSC "Joint Resources", the owner of which is the oligarch Timur Kulibayev - son-in-law of the former President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
