Kyrgyzstan Government endorsed draft law banning right-hand drive cars
Almaty. April 18. KazTAG - The draft law which will ban import of right-hand drive cars to Kyrgyzstan was discussed at the session in Kyrgyzstan chaired by Dzhoomart Otorbayev, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan.
"We have gathered today to listen to public opinion about the mechanisms of road traffic regulation in order to decrease the frequency of traffic accidents. The question is complicated and requires complex approach," said Otorbayev.
The draft law did not cause any serious disputes. However, some parties said that the owners of inexpensive right hand drive cars will start buying old left hand drive cars. According to Danil Ibrayev, very old cars also negatively affect traffic security.
The representatives of public organizations agree that growing number of right hand drive cars negatively affect traffic security.
