Kyrgyzstan pays twice higher price for Kazakh gas than Switzerland
Astana. July 9. KazTAG - The most beneficial buyer of Kazakhstani gas was Kyrgyzstan in January-May, while Switzerland is buying it for cheaper price, reports the customs control committee of the Ministry of Finance.
According to the published data, without accounting the Customs Union's states, Kazakhstan increased export of natural gas in January-May 2014 to 4841.5 mln cu m to $714.9 mln, 3.4% up in quantity and 8.8% down in sum year on year.
Kazakhstan supplied gas to Ukraine - 3396.8 cubic meters (+16.3%) to $ 563.5 million (-3.4%), Switzerland - 933.4 million cubic meters (15.4%) to $ 68.9 million (+14.8%), Poland - 195.9 million cubic meters (-76.9%) to $ 26 million (-77.4%), China - 172.4 million cubic meters (China did not import Kazakh gas in the same period in 2013) to $ 20.7 million, Kyrgyzstan - 143.1 million cubic meters (35.5%) to $ 35.7 million (+40.6%).
Thus, the average price of exported gas was $ 147.7 per 1000 cu m, to Ukraine- $ 165.9, Switzerland- $ 73.8, Poland- $ 132.9, China- $ 120, Kyrgyzstan- $ 249.6.
