Kyrgyzstan plans to resume import of electric power
Almaty. March 4. KazTAG - Kyrgyzstan plans to resume the import of electric power, reports the KyrTAG news agency.
"Probably, since April 2015 import of electric power from Tajikistan will be resumed to preserve water at Toktogul HES. The terms will be from April till September. We imported 211 mln kwh from Tajikistan in 2014, I think, this year we will import 300 mln kwh," said Alexey Borodin, deputy general director of "NEKS" company.
This prognosis is based on capacities of Tajik energy system. Now, Kyrgyzstan is negotiating this issue with Tajikistan.
In his words, Bishkek HES will keep winter volumes of energy production to save the resources of reservoir of Toktokul HES.
"If we have low water flow, we are considering other options. For example, import from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan," he added.
