“Lake No. 19 in Talgar River basin poses a real threat of burst along intra-moraine runoff channels with possible water disposal in the northern and north-eastern parts of the modern moraine,” reads the report.
The burst may occur from August 6. The date was calculated based on the background assessment method. The akimat clarifies that currently in the mountains of the region a difficult mudflow situation persists due to rising temperatures, intensive melting of glaciers and filling of moraine-glacial lakes and increased runoff in the Talgar River bed.
Residents and guests of Talgar district are prohibited from traveling to mountainous area and recreation areas outside the hydraulic structures located in the upper part of Talgar city.
