Launch complex to be called Nazarbayev Start - Roscosmos
Almaty. September 9. KazTAG - The Soyuz-6 and Soyuz-5 missile and space complex, which is being created to launch medium and light heavy rocket carriers from Baikonur cosmodrome, will be called the Nazarbayev Start, reports Roscosmos.
“The launch complex will be called the Nazarbayev Start,” reads the statement.
It was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to name the Baiterek space rocket complex, jointly built by Kazakhstan and Russia, in honor of the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Putin announced his proposal in the time of inspection of the reconstructed Kazakhstani pavilion at the Exhibition of Economic Achievements, Dmitry Rogozin, head of Roscosmos, and Askar Zhumagaliev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan told two leaders - Putin and Nazarbayev about the process of creating the complex. The flight tests of the Soyuz-6 launch vehicle at Baikonur is planned for 2025.
