Majilis approves establishment of WAHO office on foot and mouth disease control in Astana
Astana. December 24. KazTAG - Majilis deputies have approved the draft law "On agreement ratification between the Government of Kazakhstan and the World Animals Health Organization on creation of sub-regional coordination office of the World Animal Health Organization to control foot and mouth disease in Astana," said KazTAG reporter.
"The agreement stipulates creation of sub-regional coordination office of international epizootic bureau of foot and mouth disease in Astana and defines its liabilities, privileges and immunities in Kazakhstan," reads the conclusion of the committee on international affairs, defense and security.
Kazakhstan annually deposits $250 000 for functioning of the office in Astana.
"This deposit and budget of the office are managed by the head office of the international epizootic bureau (Paris, France)," the committee reports.
