Majilis deputy proposed to increase financing for patronate families
Astana. November 26.KazTAG - Tursunbek Omurzakov, Majilis deputy, proposed to increase the welfare for patronate families.
"Our deputy request is addressed to Prime Minister Karim Massimov. There are about 34 000 orphans in Kazakhstan. About 1500 Kazakhstani children annually become orphans, many of them still have parents alive. Only one tenth part of these children are annually adopted, there is lack of state support for adoption," he said.
In his opinion the families which decide to adopt a child or to take for patronage get insufficient financial aid.
"Guardians and trustees get about 18 000 tenge a months, patronate parents get salary from 35 000 tenge and those 18 000 tenge for a child. Since January 2015 the adoptive families will get one time payment about 150 000 tenge," he said.
"For comparison the compensation reaches $10 000 in the US, a monthly welfare makes $900, in Spain one time welfare makes $2500. In Canada families get additional subsidy for a child from $700-800 a month depending on the revenue," he said.
