Majilisman proposed to introduce public control over prices for socially significant products

Astana.  February 25. KazTAG - Alexander Milyutin, Majilis deputy, has proposed to allow the public to control the fulfillment of the norm on the maximum 15% markup on food prices.
“Despite the fact that since July 5 last year, the regulations of the Law“ On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Protection of Consumer Rights ”entered into force, which limit the trade markup for socially significant food products to 15% of the manufacturer's selling price or the purchase price of a wholesale supplier, their prices are steadily increasing (...) Why the state bodies do not exercise state control over compliance with the maximum permissible retail prices for food products? And under the conditions of a moratorium on inspections, we consider it necessary to provide the public with the opportunity to control the execution of the above-mentioned regulation,” said the report.
He proposed to make information on producer prices and purchase prices publicly available.
In addition, he proposed to label goods with the date and place of their origin, manufacturer, wholesale price, "which will allow the consumers and authorities to control the supply chain in order to prevent overpricing."
