Mass fish death registered in the lake Zhaksy-Zhalgiztau in the North Kazakhstan region

Petropavlovsk. June 21. KazTAG - Mass fish death has been registered in the Zhaksy-Zhalgiztau lake in the North-Kazakhstan region, said Yerlan Tashimov, head of the department of wildlife and fish resources of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
In his words, about 80 kg of dead fish were found in the lake. "These are preliminary calculations," he said.
Tashimov informed that now specialists of the Natural Resources Management Department are working on the lake.
"The reasons for the death of fish will be known after 5 days, after receiving samples of water and fish. We do not exclude the version of chemicals falling into the lake after treatment of the fields that are located near the lake," he said.
