Matayev: Current goal is to initiate criminal cases for electoral fraud

Almaty. March 30. KazTAG - Aset Matayev, who nominated his candidacy for the Majilis deputies, believes that it is necessary to initiate criminal cases in connection with electoral fraud.
“Cancel the results of the elections because of the violations - this is a global practice. Even in neighboring Russia and Kyrgyzstan there have been similar precedents. New deputies are going to take their seats. Meanwhile, active Almaty residents, who do not agree with the numerous violations in the electoral process, continue to apply to various authorities, including the prosecutor's office and the court. Among them is a civil activist, lawyer Alnur Ilyashev. The current goal is to initiate criminal cases, in accordance with Article 151 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the fact of falsification of election documents and incorrect counting of votes,” Matayev wrote on Telegram.
According to him, evidences of violations are available on photo and video materials. On their base, law enforcement officers can open criminal cases.
“According to the law “On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, we can demand from the authorities to declare the elections as invalid. Then the territorial election commission will have to make a decision on holding repeat elections, which, according to the law, are held no later than a month after the initial elections, that is, until April 19. Voting takes place in the same polling stations and on the same voter lists drawn up for the initial elections.
“According to the 90% of all protocols we have collected in the fifth district, we can declare: none of the protocols for 42 polling stations in the Nauryzbai district reflects the real votes! Such an analysis showed a clear structure of the gradation of votes from desirable to the authorities and undesirable," he said.
