Memorandum on APS construction signed by heads of "Kazatomprom" and "Rosatom"
Astana. May 30. KazTAG - The memorandum on mutual understanding on cooperation for construction of APS on the territory of Kazakhstan has been signed between Russia and Kazakhstan.
"Bilateral memorandum has been signed by Vladimir Shkolnik, chair of "Kazatomprom" atomic company and Sergey Kiriyenko, head of "Rosatom" within the frameworks of the session of High Eurasian Economic Council," said KazTAG reporter.
According to "Kazatomprom" the memorandum stipulates construction of APS with pressurized water reactor from 300 to 1200 mW capacity.
The parties also plan to cooperate for provision of future APS with nuclear fuel. The fuel components will be produced in cooperation with Russia on the territory of Kazakhstan.
