MIA about tortures in colony in Zarechniy: Five employees taken to pretrial detention facility
Astana. July 30. KazTAG - Five employees of the colony in Zarechniy village have been taken to pretrial detention facility.
"A special commission has been created to investigate the video showing violence and tortures made in the colony in the Almaty region. Criminal cases have been opened on the fact of application of physical power by the employees of the colony. By the results of service investigation, 14 employees have been attracted to responsibility, seven have been dismissed. The chief of the colony and two of his deputies have been dismissed. Five employees have been taken to pretrial detention facility," reads the statement.
Deputy head of department of the criminal-executive system of the region has been submitted for dismissal.
“In the interests of the investigation, the convicted victims have been transferred to another colony. For the objectivity of the investigation, the collected materials were sent to the prosecutor's office. Legal assessment will be given to the actions of all the participants of the events and the persons who committed them, ” said the Ministry.
