MIA declares "correctness" of actions of law enforcement officers in detentions in Nur-Sultan and Almaty
Almaty. July 9. KazTAG - The Ministry of Interior Affairs of Kazakhstan has declared "correctness" of the actions of law enforcement officers in Nur-Sultan and Almaty.
"Detentions of violators were conducted correctly, no special means were applied," reads the report.
Despite mass detentions, police reported about detentions "of only certain people".
"There were some attempts to hold unsanctioned protest-actions on July 5 in Nur-Sultan and Almaty. Despite numerous warnings of the prosecutor's office, some people rose to prevocational calls of the banned extremist organizations. Some of them were committing illegal actions in respect of police officers posing threat to peace and security of other people," reads the statement.
"Due to this the interior affairs bodies took legal measures to prevent disorder".
"The organizers and active participants were taken to police. Some of them had smoke pellets ad traumatic weapons," said the police.
