MIA refused to voice number of detainees following massacre in Korday district

Astana. February 11. KazTAG - Sanzhar Adilov, head of the investigation department of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, refused to voice the number of detainees following the massacre in the Korday district of the Zhambyl region.
"We have detained people, they are in custody. Unfortunately, in compliance with the Art. 201 disclosure of preliminary investigation data at this stage is impossible. We will inform you later. Urgent investigative steps are being taken. The petitions for their arrest were supported by the prosecution authorities and currently, a number of suspects have been taken into custody under the sanction of the court of the Zhambyl region. The investigation is underway, the criminal case is under constant control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office," he said.
He confirmed that police released a number of people.
"Necessary investigative actions were taken with them. I want to say that indeed people who were without documents were taken to the police station for identification, they were put on the appropriate forensic records, and now, after urgent investigative actions, they have been released, as police have not found any evidence of their involvement in the massacre," he said.
Berdibek Saparbayev, akim of the Zhambyl region, said that 25 criminal cases have been opened.
