MIA reports detention 55 people in Nur-Sultan and Almaty on Independence Day
Astana. December 18. KazTAG - The Ministry of Interior Affairs has declared about 55 people taken to police on the Independence Day in Nur-Sultan and Almaty.
"There were attempts of unsanctioned meetings in Nur-Sultan and Almaty on December 16. Despite the warnings of the General Prosecutor's Office, some people attempted provocations and took part in illegal meetings. They failed to stop illegal actions by request of the law enforcement officers, 32 people were taken to police in Nur-Sultan, 23- in Almaty," said the message.
"Despite the warnings of the local law enforcement bodies about no legal ground for the meetings, the protestors continued marching down the streets of Nur-Sultan and Almaty," said the message.
