“This year we want to increase the amount of potatoes in organized farms, no longer relying on personal subsidiary farms. And I think that this year, the price will be slightly reduced,” Saparov said at a government briefing.
The minister recalled that in 2024, Kazakhstan harvested 2.6 million tons of potatoes with the country's need of 2 million tons, and due to high demand from Uzbekistan, the price of potatoes in Kazakhstan soared.
