Ministry of Energy about incident at Tengiz: Kazakhstan lacks of qualified staff
Astana. July 2. KazTAG - Kazakhstan lacks of qualified staff, thus they are attracted from foreign states, said Makhambet Dosmukhambetov, First Vice Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan.
"Tengiz is a very complicated project, it is construction, first of all modules, complicated installations, it needs many qualified workers, Kazakhstan lacks of them. Today about 40 000 people are working on the project of future extension. Naturally, Kazakhstan lacks of qualified staff for such a big project, thus they are attracted from abroad," he said.
In his words, any international project means attraction of expats to Kazakhstan.
"When Kazakhstani colleagues work abroad, they get compensation for working there. Thus, we hear that such questions are raised; now they are being analyzed, if ungrounded payments are revealed we will take measures. In reality differential in salaries exists and we have to admit it correctly," he added.
