Ministry of Energy doubts that Karachaganak involved in mass poisoning of children in West Kazakhstan region
Astana. December 4. KazTAG - The Ministry of Energy doubts that Karachaganak field is involved in mass poisoning of children in West Kazakhstan region.
"About 20 pupils of 4-11 grade and 3 teachers of school in Burlinsk district lost consciousness on November 28. Ecological, medical and other groups were mobilized. Usually the easiest way is saying that one field, which operates there, is guilty," said Uzakbay Karabalin, First Vice Minister of Energy.
"As of today there is no clear ground for such statements. Investigation is underway. People who suffered were hospitalized. I think the commission must reveal the cause at the scene and we will draw up conclusions," he said.
Meanwhile, Burlinsk district department of internal affairs opened a criminal case on the article 282 part 2 (atmosphere pollution causing harm to people's health).
4 schoolchildren are still staying in regional hospital.
"Their condition is satisfactory. Lessons have been resumed at school in Berezovka village," said the press service of akim of West Kazakhstan region.
