"Indeed, today the whole world is watching the situation in certain areas of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation with great concern. I would like to note that Kazakhstan has always emphasized the need for all countries to comply with the UN Charter, which clearly sets out the principle of territorial integrity of states," said Aibek Smadiyarov, official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Kazakhstan consistently advocates for the resolution of all conflicts between states exclusively by peaceful means with the wide use of political and diplomatic instruments. At the same time, any efforts by the international community aimed at constructively finding mutually acceptable solutions are welcomed.
The war between Russia and Ukraine is in its 902nd day. On August 6, it became known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered the Kursk region of Russia. The population of certain areas began to evacuate. Fighting is underway.
According to a Russian publication, the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region has been stopped, but the fate of 2,000 residents is not exactly known.
