More than 13.5 thousand foreign specialists work in Kazakhstan

Astana. March 27. KazTAG – As of March 1, 2025, 13,584 foreign citizens worked in Kazakhstan with permits from local executive bodies, reports the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
“As of March 1, 2025, 13,584 foreign citizens work in Kazakhstan with permits from local executive bodies,” reads the report.
The bulk of the foreign labor force is represented by specialists (4,711 people) and skilled workers (1,010 people). Also, 1,217 people are involved in seasonal work, and 3,563 are involved in corporate transfers.
A total of 1,744 employers in the country use the foreign labor force, with more than 377.6 thousand citizens of Kazakhstan working at these enterprises, which makes 96.5% of the total number of employees.
The largest number of foreign workers is involved in construction (5,052 people), agriculture (1,296), manufacturing (1,281), mining (1,263) and the administrative sphere (975).
The leaders in the number of workers attracted came from China (4,945 people), India (1,169), Turkey (1,165) and Uzbekistan (1,056).
