More than 20 thousand bottles of surrogate alcohol seized from residents of the Akmola region

Kokshetau. June 19. KazTAG - More than 20 thousand bottles of surrogate alcohol were seized from residents of the Akmola region, reports the press service of the Financial Monitoring Agency.
“The fact of illegal production of surrogate alcoholic products using counterfeit accounting and control stamps in the Akmola region was suppressed by the Financial Monitoring Agency. An exposed group of people led by a resident of Stepnogorsk, consisting of 6 people, sold surrogate alcoholic products in the Akmola and North Kazakhstan regions. More than 20 thousand bottles of finished products and more than 100 thousand empty bottles, alcohol-containing liquid, alcohol, and counterfeit registration and control stamps were seized,” the statement said.
“During the period of criminal activity, the turnover of funds amounted to more than KZT350 million,” said the message.
“By the court’s verdict, the defendants in the case were brought to criminal liability, including for the legalization of property obtained by criminal means in the amount of KZT 4.6 million, confiscated to the state,” added the department.
