More than 4.3 thousand ethnic Kazakhs have received repatriates status since beginning of 2024 in Kazakhstan

Astana. April 23. KazTAG — More than 4.3 thousand ethnic Kazakhs have received repatriates status since the beginning of 2024 in Kazakhstan, reports the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
“As of April 1, 2024, 4,351 ethnic Kazakhs returned to their historical homeland and received repatriates status. In total, since 1991, 1 million 132.7 thousand ethnic Kazakhs have returned to the republic. More than half of the repatriates (51.1%) who arrived in Kazakhstan since the beginning of this year are from China, 31.9% from Uzbekistan, 6.4% from Turkmenistan, 5.4% from Mongolia, 3 .7% from Russia and 1.5% from other countries,” reads the report.
As of April 1, 2024, the number of ethnic migrants of working age is 59.1%, minors 31.7% and pensioners 9.2%.
“Of the number of people of working age 16.9% have higher education, 22.5% have secondary specialized education, 55.5% have general secondary education and 5.1% have no education,” reads the report.
