"Now 1519 residential houses, 276 schools 212 health care objects, 68 pre-school institutions and 334 public and industrial buildings need seismic reinforcement. The majority of residential houses which need seismic reinforcement are located in the Kyzylorda region (775), schools and health care objects - in the East Kazakhstan region (246 and 195)," reads the report.
Shabby constructions which need overhaul repair are "a real source of danger for people," said the developers of the program.
"Seismic reinforcement was made in 55 residential houses, 190 schools, 229 health care objects, 72 preschool institutions and 20 public and industrial buildings in seven regions of Kazakhstan from 2010 until 2018," reads the report.
