"More than half of tea - 57%, and 57% of vegetables are sold in the supermarkets with discounts in the time of promo-actions," she said at the Kazakhstan Marketing Conference 2020 in Almaty.
In her words, 37% of dairy products, 41% of candies (Pralines), 42% of whisky, and more than a third of chips, a quarter of the volume of mineral water are also offered with discounts.
"Hygiene products are among the top items sold on promotion actions: 70% of hair dyes, 64% of deodorants, 60% of shower gels and 56% of air fresheners,” said the report.
She said a two-third of interrogated people said the economy is in recession in Kazakhstan.
