The court office reported that a trial in the Supreme Court on the criminal case of Arman Kudaibergenov will be held on August 8. The case materials are closed for publication. The second person convicted of murdering the skater is Nuraly Kiyasov.
On July 19, 2018, Kazakhstani people were shocked by the news that figure skater Denis Ten died from a stab wound to the leg. He was attacked by car robbers – Kudaibergenov and Kiyasov.
They were both sentenced to 18 years in prison in a maximum security facility. Tengrinews writes that the guys' sentences were mitigated. The convicts still have two-thirds of their sentence left to serve - 12 years and four months.
