Muslims of Kazakhstan celebrate Oraza Ayt
Almaty. June 5. KazTAG - Oraza Ayt is celebrated by Muslims of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.
In all mosques of the country, on Wednesday morning, were performed holiday prayers “Ayt-namaz”. On this day according to Islam, people set festive tables and visit each other. According to religious canons, the official holiday is the day following the completion of the fast Oraza, but according to the Muslim tradition in many countries, including Kazakhstan, Oraza Ait is celebrated three days. In 2019 it is the period from June 5 to June 7.
President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev has already congratulated the country on the Muslim holiday.
In Kazakhstan, Islam is practiced by more than 11 million people - more than 70% of the population.
