National adoption agency to be created in Kazakhstan

Astana. January 16. KazTAG - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed the protocol-order on creation of a national adoption agency, said Aidyn Rakhimbayev, Kazakhstani businessman, founder of Ana Uyi.
In his words, the agency will be created on the base of Ana Uyi public fund.
"We have been trying to settle this issue for two years, but it happened only after the president involved. Intention of only the Ministry of Education was not enough, it is a difficult coordination process. Now the authority and functions on adoption issues will be transferred to the agency from different ministries and akimats, and the adoption process will accelerate, as well as the process of transformation of orphanages all over the state," wrote A. Rakhimbayev in Facebook.
In his words, the current system of orphanages is outdated and does not provide balanced upbringing of children.
"Up to date our team managed to find families for 949 children. But totally in Kazakhstan there are 122 state institutions where 5337 children live. We have a big work ahead, but we will get a high status and authority which will accelerate the process of adoption in the state and as a result  shut down a number of orphanages," he said.
