Nazarbayev compares Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway with new Silk Way
Almaty. December 4. KazTAG - Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev has compared the new railway line Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran with a new Silk Way, report the public mass media sources.
"We have factually created a new Silk Way running through our three states, through Kazakhstan and China- to the Pacific Ocean," he said at the opening ceremony of Turkmenistan-Iran part of the railway in Gorgan.
He emphasized that the railway launch has great importance for Kazakhstan.
"Kazakhstan has long been waiting and dreaming about access to Iran and the Persian Gulf, finally we have launched this railway. We- Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran have constructed a railway of 900 kilometers, connected all the Central Asian states and Kazakhstan with the states of Persian Gulf through Iran," he said.
He indicated the economic perspectives of the railway infrastructure development.
"First, life always prospers nearby the railways, people find job, and the country develops. Secondly, trade develops between three states. Thirdly, transit to all other states of the world develops," he reminded.
The lengths of the railway line at the territory of Kazakhstan makes 146 km, Turkmenistan-470 km, Iran- 70 km.
