Astana. April 24. KazTAG - First president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met Henri Poupart-Lafarge, chairman of ALSTOM mechanical engineering corporation, reports the press-service of Elbasy.

The parties have discussed the current condition and prospects of investment cooperation.
"Seven years ago we started successful cooperation. Today our companies are working in Kazakhstan not only in the railway field, but also in the field of mechanical engineering. The products produced by your corporation are demanded in the states of the region," said Nazarbayev.
He stressed the importance of infrastructure development in the context of strengthening the country's transit and transport potential.
“Now infrastructural development is becoming an important direction in the region. In particular, in connection with the Chinese initiative One Belt- One Way. We have built a large number of rail transport routes, ”said the first president of Kazakhstan.
In turn, Poupard-Lafarge thanked Nazarbayev for the meeting, emphasizing his role in strengthening of investment cooperation.
“A large amount of equipment was produced at the electric locomotive plant, which is also supplied to foreign markets. We started export to Azerbaijan. Thanks to Kazakhstani specialists, we were able to produce high-quality products. Now we are planning to expand the production. We plan to increase the number of employees of the plant from 500 to 700 people, as well as to increase the productivity of the enterprise to 100 electric locomotives per year, ” said Pouphard-Lafarge.
