New-York to host working meeting of CSTO foreign ministers in September
Almaty. August 29. KazTAG - A working meeting of CSTO foreign ministers will be held in September in New York, reports CSTO press-service.
"On August 28 this year, under the chairmanship by the Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aman Mambetseyitov, a meeting of the Permanent Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization was held, in which the CSTO Deputy Secretaries General Petr Tikhonovsky and Alymbay Sultanov took part," reads the message.
The session considered the draft agendas for the upcoming session of the Collective Security Council and the joint meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs , the Council of Ministers of Defense and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils. Work on these documents will continue at the next meeting of the CSTO Permanent Council.
The Permanent Council discussed a number of draft political statements regarding the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, the situation in Afghanistan, the stabilization of the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as ensuring comprehensive stability in the world and the fight against the glorification of Nazism. It is planned to continue consideration of the above mentioned draft statements at the next meeting of the CSTO Permanent Council.
The parties also discussed the preparations for the Working Meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of the CSTO member states, scheduled for September, 27, this year in New York on the margins of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.
