No need to conduct referendum on Kazakhstan accession in EEU - deputy
Astana. May 14. KazTAG - There is no need to conduct a national referendum concerning accession of Kazakhstan into the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), said Aigul Solovyeva, Majilis deputy.
"If it is about a political union- yes, a referendum is needed there. It is absolutely different format and another level of integration, as for economic, in my opinion, the existing figures and exponents will work," she said during the teleconference Astana-Moscow-Minsk-Yerevan organized by the RIA-Novosti news agency.
In her opinion the EEU will work only in terms of economic cooperation.
"There should be interests of only acquisition and development of competitive advantages... Public opinion, undoubtedly, disputes (necessity of accession in EEU-KazTAG), but interrogations and researches were conducted in Kazakhstan among local business communities, business said that it is very important and comfortable," she said.
