"Yesterday we travelled around a number of touristic objects but we have not seen any tourists- that is what we have to work on. We have not seen any foreigners at the objects," said Nurlan Zhazylbekov, member of public council of the city.
He said the public figures visited big touristic objects including Medeu and Kok-Tobe.
Meanwhile, Yerlan Zhailaubay, head of city department of tourism and external ties said annual inflow of tourists to Almaty makes 14%.
"Referring to the official statistics on accommodation provided by hotels, last year there were 350 000 nonresidents. The increase was 14%, in general we see 14% annual growth," he said.
As it was reported, by the results of Almaty budget revision for 2018-2020 the city authorities plan to lower the expenses on "Culture, sports, tourism and information space" by 104.317 mln tenge.
