"Thank you for your support. Zhanbolat has been released. Although, CCES has a day off today, lieutenant colonel Yerzhigitov arrived today and offered excuses. He said "we are not going to imprison you. We conducted a check and did not find any violations". Answering the question what the inspectors were doing near the house of Zhanbolat and why he got summons in the evening, he just said: "They conducted planned works," said Inga Imanbay, journalist.
Mamay was invited to police on November 9. He was said that he had to stay home at the weekend, he could not leave the house. The politician did not exclude his arrest. He connected the case with his political activity.
On September 7 2017 he was adjudged guilty under part 3 Art. 193 (legalization (laundering) of money and other property obtained in a criminal way). In addition to restriction of freedom, he was banned from journalistic work for three years. He denied his fault saying it was an attempt to shut down the newspaper which he headed.
