Number of corruption crimes doubled in North Kazakhstan region in 2018
Petropavlovsk. January 17. KazTAG - The number of corruption crimes in the North Kazakhstan region has doubled in 2018.
"The national bureau for corruption combat revealed 75 crimes in 2018 ( 35 in 2017), of them 62 are corruption (or 83%), which is two times higher than last year's index (31 in 2017). Of them 36 crimes are classified as major crimes (19 in 2017)," said Askhat Zhumagali, head of the national bureau department in the North Kazakhstan region.
Bribery dominate in the structure of the crimes- 25, including 13 cases of bribe taking, 8 cases of bribe giving, intermediary is bribery - 4 cases.
"In addition 16 swindling facts have been suppressed, 13 cases of power abuse, 5 cases of forgery by an official, one case of embezzlement, one case of legalization of property obtained in a criminal way, one case of illegal business activity," he said.
