"Two people have died in the emergency- one soldier and one inhabitant of Arys, two victims are in the intensive care, 34 have been hospitalized, 12 people have received medical aid without hospitalization," said Yerlan Turgumbayev, Minister of Interior Affairs of Kazakhstan.
He said due to ongoing explosions in the military warehouse, firefighting operation is complicated.
"Explosions still continue, firefighting operation has been suspended. I think jointly with the Defense Ministry we'll start these works during the day," he said.
In his words, 23 fire engines are working in the city which localized fires in 19 houses, 9 yards, and 14 natural ignition sources.
About 41 thousand people have been evacuated from the town which has been surrounded by block-posts as there are damaged houses and blind shells, people are not allowed into the town.
