Official sentenced death penalty in China for bribery
Almaty. October 17. KazTAG - Zhang Shuguang, deputy chief engineer of the Ministry of Railways of China has been sentenced death penalty, reports the Xinhua news agency.
The official has been deprived of political rights, his property has been confiscated.
He confessed getting $7.68 mln bribe from 14 companies in 2000-2011 in exchange for contracts conclusion with these organizations on supply of trains and spare parts for them.
It is believed that Zhang Shuguang was in close contact with ex minister of railways Liu Zhijun who has been sentenced suspended two years death penalty. He is accused of getting $10.53 mln bribe in the period from 1986 to 2011.
