Only some taxi parks of Almaty and Astana use electronic speed limit devices - expert
Almaty. February 24. KazTAG - Only some taxi parks of Almaty and Astana use electronic speed limit devices, said Yerlen Kunanbayev, head of sales department of Eco Taxi company in Astana.
"Previously I worked in several taxi parks, they didn't use the systems. May be they announced something officially, but I didn’t see it. We constantly monitor, travel to the airport and see that we drive 80 km/h, while other taxi drivers drive 120 km/h," he said to KazTAG.
In his words, use of electronic speed limit systems reduces the number of serious accidents by 10-30% a year.
"Usually out of 100 taxi cars 10-30 get in lethal traffic accidents a year. Use of electronic speed control systems reduces the cars damage to 1% out of 100 cars, often not by the fault of taxi park drivers," he said.
