Over 10.7 thousand ethnic Kazakhs gained citizenship of Kazakhstan in 2019
Astana. September 5. KazTAG - More than 10.7 thousand ethnic Kazakhs have gained the citizenship of Kazakhstan in 2019, reports the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
“Since the beginning of this year, more than 10.7 thousand ethnic Kazakhs who returned to their historical homeland from neighboring states have become the citizens of Kazakhstan. Most of the new citizens arrived from Uzbekistan - 48.5%. They also resettled from China - 36%, Mongolia - 6.2%, Turkmenistan - 5.4%, Russia - 1.1%, Iran - 0.5% and other states," said the report.
According to the agency, the arriving Kazakhs mainly settled in Akmola (27%), Mangistau (14%) and Zhambyl (9%) regions, as well as in Nur-Sultan (8.9%) and Shymkent (8.5%) .
