Over 5 bn tenge to be spent on reconstruction of prisons in Kazakhstan until 2023

Astana. January 25. KazTAG - Over 5 bn tenge will be spent on prisons reconstruction in Kazakhstan until 2023, reads the draft order of the Government "On plan of arrangements for 2019-2023 for reconstruction of housing blocks for separate cells of prisoners in the criminal correctional organizations".
"The total expenses planned in the budget until 2023 make 5183.11 mln tenge , including 82.868 mln tenge in 2021, 2 555.7 mln tenge in 2022, 2 555.7 mln tenge in 2023," reads the document.
The performance of the plan will improve the activity and raise effectiveness of work of criminal-correctional system of Kazakhstan, improve the conditions in compliance with sanitary norms and rules, provide separate cells to convicts,  and increase labour productivity of convicts.
