“A 24-year-old Aktobe resident was appointed temporarily acting director of a branch of a large pawnshop chain. The curator of the chain's branches gave him the keys to the safe for the New Year holidays so that the branch could continue operation. The director took advantage of this and on January 4 opened the safe and took out T1 million. He then opened the safe twice more and took out another T5 million. As it turned out later, he spent the millions taken from the safe on bets at a bookmaker and lost,” reads the report.
After losing the entire amount, he confessed to the crime.
Before the trial, the accused fully compensated for the damage.
The court sentenced him to two years and six months of restricted freedom, prohibiting him from visiting bookmakers and restaurants. During this period, he is required to stay at home after work.
