Photos and fingerprints will appear in Russian visas
Almaty. February 13. KazTAG - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia is implementing a pilot project collecting biometric data from foreign citizens on their registration, report Russian mass media sources.
"In order to protect the Russian visas, including combating illegal migration, our foreign departments in Great Britain, Denmark, Myanmar and Namibia are implementing a pilot project collecting biometric personal data of foreign citizens on registration of visas," said Eugeniy Ivanov, director of MFA consulting department.
The data will include a color photo and fingerprints. The innovation will provide protection from theft of personal data and incorrect data submission.
The innovation will be introduced in April 2015.
