Pilgrims vaccination to start in Kazakhstan
Astana. May 8. KazTAG - Pilgrims vaccination will start in Kazakhstan, said Zhandarbek Bekshin, chairman of committee of public health care- chief state sanitary doctor.
"Due to an outbreak of meningococcal infection in the time of hadj in 2000 the important requirement of the ministry of health care of Saudi Arabia to hadj is medical examination and compulsory vaccination against meningococcal infection. Vaccination will be conducted in eight regions of the state (Atyrau, Zhambyl, karaganda, Kyzylorda, Mangistau regions, Almaty, Nur-Sultan and Shymkent).Vaccine will be delivered to the regions and will be available since May 15 (1985 doses), additionally 6000 doses will be supplied in the first half of June," he said.
He also indicated prophylactics of Congo-Hemorrhagic fever in the Zhambyl, Kyzyorda, Turkestan regions and Shymkent which are the natural sources. "Annually 9-25 cases are registered in the regions with lethal cases. 18 cases were fixed in 2018 including 5 cases in the Turkestan region, 9- in the Zhambyl region and 4 - in the Kyzylroda region," he said.
