Police arrested Almaty inhabitant stretching poster with excerpt from Constitution
Almaty. April 30. KazTAG - An inhabitant of Almaty has been arrested for stretching a poster with a an excerpt from the Constitution of Kazakhstan.
“People called the police department saying that a man was throwing paper and other materials in Al-Farabi ave. and Dostyk ave., this way he was violating the public order. Road-patrol police arrived to the scene. The man behaved defiantly and refused to eliminate his offense. To identify the individual, the man was brought to the police department of the Medeu district," said the police.
Roman Zakharov, born in 1988, was attracted to responsibility under Part 1 of Art. 434 (petty hooliganism) of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The man was arrested for 5 days for stretching a poster with an excerpt from the Constitution saying "The only source of state power is the people". According to the lawyer, Zakharov was prosecuted for allegedly discarded garbage. Later, he explained his action as solidarity with the previously detained Asiya Tulesova and Beybarys Tolymbekov.
