Police arrested inhabitant of Almaty who told story about escape from slavery in Shymkent

Almaty. November 8. KazTAG - Police have arrested the inhabitant of Almaty who told a story about escape from slavery in the suburbs of Shymkent, reports the police department of the Turkestan region.
"The police department has started pretrial investigation which revealed that the man was wanted for theft from 2017. All this time he was hiding under a surname of another person. He has been arrested by police in Almaty, " said the message.
As it was reported, an inhabitant of Almaty Yuriy Smirnov told Eurasia TV channel that he had spent 1.5 years in slavery in the suburbs of Shymkent. He said his leg was intentionally broken in 2017 so that he could not escape and had to work at a private farm for food. Smirnov said about regular assaults and beating. He said he managed to escape when he was visiting hospital.
