Police seized journalist covering detention of protestors in Uralsk

Uralsk. February 24. KazTAG - Police seized Akmaral Federova, journalist of Uralsk Week, who was covering detention of protestors in Uralsk.
"Akmaral had time to send photos of detentions to the editorial, in the phone talk she said that Zhanbolat Zhanshin, head of administrative police department accompanied by 6-7 police officers who did not introduce themselves approached the protestors. After a short dialogue Zhanshin and his subordinate seized Tlegen Tureshev and took him to the police car. The journalist asked the question about the ground for his detention as single pickets are allowed by President Tokayev, but then she was also grabbed  by policemen," said the report on Saturday.
She managed to say that  she was a journalist and explained to the police that a violation of the journalist’s professional activity was a direct violation of Article 352 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as a violation of her Constitutional rights.
“But the police did not explain the reason for my detention, did not provide any subpoenas, and did not comment on their actions. They just silently grabbed me by the arms and threw me into the police car by force, ” said Fedorova.
According to her, the only thing the police said was that she was being taken to the Abay police department.
She said it was witnessed by the head of administrative police.
Later the journalist reported that they demanded her to stop using the phone in the police station.
“Policeman Zhaksygaliyev yells at me, demands to take away the phone, although by law I have the right to make filming of him on duty. When asked what law he was guided by, and who said that the phone should not be used, he shouted “I-I-I-I told you!” I!". He either does not know the law, or thinks that he is the law, ”Fedorova said.
