Poltoranin's coach apologies to people of Kazakhstan and called to support the skier
Almaty. March 6. KazTAG - Alexey Nakonechniy, coach of Alexey Poltoranin, has apologized to the people of Kazakhstan and called to support the skier, reports VKsport.kz.
"I apologize for the violation of anti-doping rules committed by my trainee. I apologize to all the people, parents and management," he said.
He said his trainee considers himself innocent, " as since the age of 11 Alexey had only one goal- to win gold for the state at the biggest competition".
"The aspiration to win gold medal has resulted in impermissible offence. I know Alexey as an honest and fair person. I believe it has happened for the first time, he attempted to apply the prohibited method, but he didn't. I hope this fact will make an impact in the time of consideration of violation of anti-doping rules by WADA. I beg everyone to support Alexey, I wish him to return to sports, to continue competing for our state on a high level, to promote only fair sport and take part in combat with doping," said Nakonechniy.
