Possible location of billionaire Bulat Utemuratov amid rumors of his arrest

Almaty. November 30. KazTAG - Mukhtar Ablyazov, ex-banker and head of the DVK organization banned in Kazakhstan said that Kazakh billionaire Bulat Utemuratov is under house arrest.
"Now he (Utemuratov - KazTAG) is either arrested by Karim Massimov (chairman of the National Security Committee - KazTAG) by the order of Nazarbayev, or is under house arrest, or a ban on leaving Kazakhstan," Ablyazov said on his social network page.
According to Ablyazov, Utemuratov is allegedly the dummy owner of various assets "worth at least $ 5 billion" - the fugitive banker calls the billionaire "Nazarbayev's wallet."
“Accusations have been brought against Bolat Utemuratov that he allegedly helped to hide assets for me, Mukhtar Ablyazov,” Ablyazov said.
The editors of MIA KazTAG contacted several representatives of Utemuratov, including the Verny Capital company owned by Utemuratov.
The company said that "currently Bulat Utemuratov is in the city of Nur-Sultan and continues working with a focus on social activities."
Also the letter of the company to KazTAG reads that indeed Utemuratov and a number of persons are defendants in the civil claim of BTA Bank JSC.
“This claim was initially brought by BTA Bank JSC against Mukhtar Ablyazov and Ilyas Khrapunov in 2015. In accordance with the subsequent expansion of the list of defendants, Bulat Utemuratov and a number of persons included in his business structure were involved in the case in November 2020," said the report.
