President of Abkhazia resigned
Almaty. June 2. KazTAG - Alexander Ankvab, President of Abkhazia, has resigned, reports the Apsnypress news agency.
"To keep stability in the country, according to the article 65 of the Constitution I am leaving the post of Abkhazia President. I am calling people to keep calmness, civil peace and conduct new elections in stable situation," reads the statement of Ankvab published on Sunday.
According to Ankvab, the latest Parliamentary acts do not meet the Constitution and the law of Abkhazia.
"However, in these conditions there is only one political decision, but also illegal- to appoint prescheduled Presidential elections," he said.
