President of Kazakhstan said migration registration of foreigners is anachronism
Almaty. October 30. KazTAG - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that migration registration of foreigners is anachronism.
"If we want to enhance investment and tourism attractiveness of big cities and the country in general, I believe we have to eliminate such anachronism as compulsory registration of foreigners in the migration police bodies," said Tokayev at the session of socio-economic development of Almaty.
In his words, besides the inconveniences for foreign guests, compulsory registration is a source of corruption which negatively affects the reputation of the state and Almaty.
"When foreign guests cross the border control they get migration registration. Otherwise, what is the digitalization for? The Government must settle this issue until the end of the year. The Minister of Interior Affairs said that they have prepared," he said.
